Hide your profile and videos from everyone. Come back whenever — everything's still there.
Close your account for good: your profile and videos stop being shown at once. After the grace period your account is erased or locked away and hidden.
Public photos and videos stay stored and can still be opened at their direct address until they are erased. Once erased, copies held by our content delivery network can stay viewable for up to about 24 hours. Nothing clears them sooner.
Files that are not public, such as identity documents, are never held in that network: once erased they are gone from our systems at once.
Messages: during the grace period a one-to-one conversation is closed to the other person. After it, they can still read what you sent, with a neutral name instead of yours, until your messages are erased.
If other members depend on something of yours, such as a video they answered with an Echo, a saga episode someone bought or a post shared to a story, it is kept and shown without your name.
